Job summary

The New School is seeking a Student Assistant to support the Individual Giving Team with donor outreach, events, student engagement, and fundraising campaigns such as Giving Tuesday and Giving Day. The role emphasizes collaboration, content creation, and data entry to support campus-wide giving initiatives.

You will coordinate on-campus activities, assist with communications, and help maintain Salesforce records while balancing a part-time schedule of 15–20 hours per week on campus.

Qualifications

  • Experience in content creation (photo, video, graphic design) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with process of outreach for donor renewals via text, email, and mail.
  • Assist in creating and reviewing content for email, social media, and donor materials including capturing campus and student content via photos and video.
  • Provide support to the DAE’s donor events.
  • Support planning and execution of the Student Gift Represent department events on campus.
  • Collaborate with team to increase student presence and voice in Annual Giving communications.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of on-campus elements of fundraising initiatives, including Giving Tuesday and Giving Day.
  • Support logistics, incentive distribution, and volunteer solicitor coordination.
  • Generate creative ideas to build excitement and awareness across campus.
  • Provide administrative and data support: calendar management, data entry, inbox backup, Salesforce checks, data maintenance.

Donor Outreach & Events
  • Assist with process of outreach for donor renewals via text, email, and mail

Student Engagement & Philanthropy Promotion
  • Support the planning and execution of the Student Gift Represent department at on-campus events including tabling and engagement activities
  • Collaborate with team to increase student presence and voice in Annual Giving communications
Campaign Support
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of the on-campus elements of fundraising initiatives, including Giving Tuesday and Giving Day
  • Support logistics, incentive distribution, and volunteer solicitor coordination
Lead or contribute to student-centered components
  • Help generate creative ideas to build excitement and awareness across campus
Administrative and Data Support
  • Provide administrative support to the Vice President including calendar management and data entry
  • Provide backup support of the Annual Fund inbox
  • Assist in reviewing donation details in Salesforce and in associating with specific campaigns
  • Participate in data maintenance efforts in partnership with the Advancement Operations team

Work Mode

This position is primarily in-person and is based on campus to support effective in-person collaboration and engagement. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the role and operational needs. Any such arrangement must be discussed and approved in advance by the appropriate division lead or their designee.

HOURLY RATE: $17 per hour, 15-20 hours per week
