Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Lead Student Worker to supervise, train, and manage the food operation. You will ensure quantities are prepared and served according to the menu, maintain inventory, and oversee staff performance.

The role requires strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and a student status at the Aramark location. Night and weekend catering events may be required, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
• Must complete a sanitation course either before or during first year.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program.
• Ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must be a student at the Aramark location.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain work schedules and may prepare production records.
• Direct daily activities.
• Maintain food production that ensures safety and quality according to policies and department requirements.
• Ensure safe, organized, hazard-free storage of food items.
• Maintain serving schedules; ensure items served per menu specifications following policies.
• Maintain a sanitary department following health codes and regulations.
• Maintain accurate inventory on a weekly basis.
• May prepare orders to ensure accurate production for location.
• Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel; promote growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
• Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
• Train/mentor other food service workers.
• Maintain logs on maintenance required on equipment; perform preventative maintenance checklist.
• Recommend replacement of equipment to meet facility needs.
• Proficiency in multi-tasking.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager.
• Must fill in for absent employees at location.
• Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm on-time delivery.
• Attend food service meetings with staff.
• Maintain communication with staff via email/phone/inter-office mail.
• May perform cashier duties as needed.
• Promote good public relations.
• Be able to work occasional night and weekend catered events.
