Job summary

The Financial Support Counselor at University of Nebraska at Omaha reports to the Assistant Director for Support & Outreach within the Office of Financial Support and Scholarships. The role focuses on providing excellent customer service to current and prospective students and their families via counseling appointments, phone, front counter, email, and social media.

You will advise on financial aid processes, eligibility, costs and planning; participate in outreach and financial literacy events;

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
• At least one year in financial aid or higher education or customer service.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students and families on financial aid, costs and planning.
• Provide day-to-day customer service via phone, front counter, email, and social media.
• Meet with students and parents for counseling appointments.
• Screen Professional Judgment paperwork and prepare files for PJ committee discussions.
• Assist with FAFSA adjustments and aid awarding/processing.
