Qualifications

• Associate degree in any field.
• Three years of experience in a student Financial Aid Office.
• Knowledge of current federal/state financial aid regulations and policies.
• Familiarity with loans, work-study or other aid programs.
• Ability to perform needs analysis and interpret complex regulations.
• Skill in using student financial aid data management systems.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
• Ability to work with a diverse community and maintain relationships.
• Ability to prioritize in a demanding office environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Excel; attention to spelling/grammar.

Responsibilities

• Advise students and families on financial aid policies and eligibility.
• Support administration of the financial aid program and processes.
• Assist students with completing applications.
• Perform fund reconciliations and audits as needed.
• Assist with the Federal Work Study Program.
• Evaluate aid applications and determine eligibility per regulations.
• Award financial aid using established guidelines.
• Elevate exceptions to higher level staff when needed.
• Participate in program outreach and maintain reports.
