Job summary

Touro University Worldwide in Los Alamitos, CA seeks a full-time Financial Aid Advisor to join the Financial Aid Department. Counseling students and parents on the financial aid process, and processing applications and awards are core duties.

You'll coordinate appeals, disburse funds, and stay current with federal and state regulations. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, 1–3 years’ experience, strong computer and MS Office skills, and the ability to multi-task.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1-3 years financial aid experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Computer literate, experience with Banner Financial Aid Module a plus.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Self-starter with willingness to learn.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Meets with and counsels students, parents, and others to explain financial aid processes and eligibility.
• Utilizes federal, state and internal software to process financial aid.
• Determines eligibility for aid programs according to laws and policies.
• Produces and distributes financial aid award notifications and disburses funds.
• Coordinate and administer financial aid appeals.
• Package, award, and disburse funds to students.
• Other duties as assigned.
