Job summary

Charleston Southern University in North Charleston, SC is seeking a part-time Event Assistant to support the Assistant Event Manager in executing university events. You will gain hands-on experience in event setup and tear down, facility and equipment management, and logistics preparation.

As part of a collaborative student crew, you will assist with setup, deliveries, timelines, and clear communication with customers to ensure a smooth event experience from preparation through completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, décor, and other event materials.
• Assist with deliveries, pickups, and the movement of event materials as needed
• Follow event timelines and checklists to ensure all setup and teardown responsibilities are completed efficiently.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding event logistics, setup needs, delivery/pickup details, and expectations.
• Represent the organization professionally and contribute to a positive customer experience from preparation through event completion.
• Launder, dry, fold, and properly store tablecloths, napkins, and other reusable materials.
