Student Employment - Event Technician

Position Summary

The Event Technician assists the Technical Manager in executing university events. As part of a collaborative student crew, technicians gain hands‑on experience working in live production, including experience with sound, lighting, video, and stage work.

Responsibilities

• Serving in a specialized event role (e.g., Sound, Lighting Op, Video Director, Stagehand).
• Assisting with the setup, cabling, and teardown of audio and visual equipment, including sound and lighting equipment.
• Operating specific live production equipment during events, such as sound boards, video switchers, or lighting consoles.
• Collaborating effectively with the Technical Manager and other Event Technicians to ensure smooth operations and successful live events.

Hours

Part-time, approximately 0-15 hours per week.

Compensation

Hourly wage, based on university student employment guidelines.
