Washington State University is seeking a Program Coordinator/Assistant to support student success and engagement within the College of Arts & Sciences in Pullman, WA. The role will oversee funds, scholarships, awards, and travel funds while coordinating across departments.

You will promote funding opportunities, assist students through applications, and support events and outreach to strengthen CAS involvement and career-readiness initiatives.

Position Details: The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is seeking a Student Engagement, Scholarship & Fellowship Program Coordinator/Assistant to support student success, engagement, recruitment, and retention. The successful candidate will begin as either a Program Coordinator or Program Assistant depending on your level of experience. In the role you will oversee the comprehensive administration, management, and coordination of CAS student support funds, including scholarships, fellowships, awards, travel funds, and other development-funded opportunities. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to managing application and award processes, monitoring fund utilization, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating support across the college, schools, departments, and other units.

You will also work directly with students to promote awareness of available funding and engagement opportunities, respond to questions, support students through application processes, and connect them with appropriate college and university resources. Additionally, you will support student engagement initiatives, including events, outreach campaigns, recognition activities, and programs designed to strengthen students’ connection to CAS and increase participation in academic experiential, and career-readiness opportunities.

This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: Program Coordinator: $3,738.00 to $4,980.00 | Range 41 | Steps A-M Program Assistant: $3,565.00 to $4,746.00 | Range 39 | Range 41 | Steps A-M Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications for All Candidates: Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience working with databases, generating reports from a database and multiple data sources. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Required Qualifications for Program Assistant: High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.

Required Qualifications for Program Coordinator: High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience. Two years Program Specialty includes experience supporting, coordinating, or administrating scholarships, financial aid processes, or gift use documentation, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications for All Candidates: Experience with InDesign or other design software for promotional materials. Prior experience/knowledge of standard professional development processes. Experience in higher education, including knowledge of general operations, policies, and procedures. Experience with the Workday system.
