Washington State University Extension seeks an Extension Coordinator for Agriculture & Natural Resources in Island County. You will lead the Master Gardener Program, recruit and train volunteers, and coordinate activity across 25+ sites to educate the public on home gardening.
You will prepare reports for the University and funding partners, manage a matrix of partnerships, and adapt to a flexible schedule including occasional evenings or weekends.

The Opportunity: As the Extension Coordinator for Agriculture & Natural Resources, you will provide leadership and management for the Master Gardener Program in Island County. In this role, you will recruit, train, lead, coordinate, and support more than 150 WSU-trained volunteers who educate the public and answer questions about home gardening. You will help expand the program’s reach throughout Island County by engaging with community members at more than 25 locations and special events. You will establish and maintain a network of empowered, effectively led volunteer teams to support program delivery and success. Working collaboratively with the Island County Master Gardener Foundation, you will help ensure a healthy, sustainable, and well-funded operation. You will also prepare and present briefings and written reports for the University, the Foundation, elected officials, and other funding partners, highlighting program outcomes and community impacts.
This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible. Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end June 30, 2027. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $4,050.92 - $5,829.37 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
