Job summary

Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY seeks a Coordinator of Student Engagement to lead a vibrant student life program, coordinating clubs, governance, and applied learning opportunities.

The role reports to the Dean of Student Life, overseeing budgets, student activities, and collaboration with campus partners. Hours are 35 per week, with occasional evenings and weekends, salary listed as $55,362.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with word processing and database software and ability to learn and use new technologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and promotes the student engagement programs consistent with the College’s strategic plan and mission.
• Develops annual program goals and assessments in conjunction with student life leadership.
• Coordinates and assigns work for student engagement related functions.
• Assists students with event planning to ensure College and SUNY policies and procedures are followed.
• Plans and/or leads the implementation of programming to commemorate recognition such as Women’s History Month, Black History, etc., collaborating with internal and external partners for community programming.
• Coordinates the New York State voter registration program for the College.
• Coordinates a summer accepted student program that promotes the retention of accepted students.
• Collaborates with campus partners to develop Applied Learning opportunities.
• Under the direction of the Dean of Student Life, develops, monitors and coordinates budgets including the Student Congress annual budget and the Student Engagement Office budget.
• Prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports relating to student engagement materials.
• Co-Coordinates the Rome Campus Activities program with Rome staff.
• Provides leadership development opportunities.
• Advises Student Congress.
• Recruits, selects, trains, supervises and evaluates part-time staff as needed.
• Performs other duties related to this job description and as assigned by the Dean of Student Life.
