Job summary

Ogeechee Technical College within the State of Georgia seeks a Student Engagement Coordinator to lead student activities, clubs, and programs, fostering belonging and student success.

You will collaborate with faculty, staff and community partners, manage budgets, coordinate emergency assistance and essential resources, and support events and communications across campus.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of related work experience.
  • Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and assess student activities, events, and programs.
  • Oversee recognized student organizations and advise the Student Leadership Council.
  • Support leadership development and participation in GOAL/SkillsUSA conferences.
  • Coordinate community service and volunteer opportunities.
  • Manage emergency assistance and lending library program.
  • Operate the OASIS Food Pantry and Career Closet resources.
  • Develop budgets for student activities and programs with the VP for Student Affairs.
  • Coordinate purchasing, contracts, and logistics for programs.
  • Maintain records for student organizations, activities, budgets, and outcomes.
  • Promote activities via PR/Marketing and digital platforms.
  • Publish the weekly Sizzler student newsletter.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
  • Comply with TCSG and College policies.
  • Support campus events including commencements and banquets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Student Engagement Coordinator provides leadership for student activities and student organizations while coordinating the College's emergency assistance and basic needs initiatives. The Coordinator works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to create a welcoming campus environment, strengthen student belonging, and remove barriers to student success.

  • Plan, coordinate, and assess student activities, campus events, and programs to promote engagement, belonging, leadership, wellness, and student success
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and support for recognized student organizations and serve as the Student Leadership Council advisor
  • Support leadership development opportunities and student participation in state, regional, and national conference and competitions, including GOAL and SkillsUSA
  • Coordinate community service/volunteer opportunities for student involvement
  • Coordinate the College's emergency assistance and lending library program
  • Manage the OASIS Food Pantry and coordinate support for the Career Closet and other basic needs resources
  • Develop and monitor budgets for student activities, student organizations, and emergency assistance programs in collaboration with the Vice President for Student Affairs
  • Coordinate purchasing, contracts, supplies, facilities, vendors, and other logistical needs associated with student programs and events
  • Maintain accurate records related to student organizations, activities, emergency assistance, budgets, participation, and program outcomes
  • Promote student activities and resources through collaboration with PR & Marketing and the use of email, social media, and other digital platforms
  • Develop and distribute the weekly Sizzler student newsletter
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when working with sensitive student and financial information
  • Comply with all TCSG and College policies
  • Provide support College events including commencement, scholarship banquets, golf tournaments, and recruitment events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university *and* three (3) years of related work experience

Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Applications software
  • Experience in a higher educational environment, preferable in Student Affairs
