Job summary

Charter College in Pasco, WA is seeking a Student Employment Recruiter (SER) to build relationships with graduates and employers to maximize graduate placements. The role focuses on marketing graduates, verifying employment data, and maintaining CampusVue records while collaborating with the Career Services team.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Requires Microsoft Office experience in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Requires 2 years experience in career services or employment background in any of the following: Job Placement department at a Vocational School, College, or University; Staffing Agency; Recruiting; Marketing/New Business Development/Sales; Customer Service; Specific industry experience in Charter College’s Allied Health, Business, IT, and/or Accounting.
  • Requires exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must display a team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly and consistently produce job opportunities for graduates as a result of actively marketing graduates to employers: Present resumes, secure interviews, and conduct follow-ups with employers and graduates.
  • Obtain, verify, and record graduate employment data of graduates - including but not limited to employment and waiver information.
  • Maintain regular and consistent contact with graduates within assigned programs - document contact in CampusVue.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers for the purposes of job placement of graduates.
  • Assist in the organization of job fairs on campus, assist in finding outside job fairs to share with Campus Manager(s), invite employers to speak to current students, and arrange on-campus (mock) interviews.
  • Coordinate with the Extern Coordinator to develop job orders from extern sites to meet extern-to-hire placement expectations.
  • Contribute to the Career Services Department meeting and exceeding Charter College and accreditation standards placement goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, employers, graduates, and staff by utilizing personal communication through in-person meetings/visits, email, and technology.
  • Accurately record all activities in CampusVue.

Job description

The Student Employment Recruiter (SER) has primary responsibility for facilitating the necessary career development/job readiness of graduates that will result in graduate job placements. The focus of this position is the development and maintenance of relationships with students, graduates, and employers to maximize opportunities that will assist the Career Services Team in meeting and exceeding placement goals. Success requires a team approach and contribution within a peer group of Student Employment Recruiters by functioning at a high level of alumni engagement, employer engagement, and campus/classroom engagement of the active student population.

This position reports directly to the Director of Career Services but may require interactions with interdepartmental leaders as it relates to the success of our students, graduates, and those alumni with whom we work until placed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Graduates:
  • Regularly and consistently produce job opportunities for graduates as a result of actively marketing graduates to employers: Present resumes, secure interviews, and conduct follow-ups with employers and graduates. Will work closely with current, and previous year cohorts of graduates.
  • Obtain, verify, and record graduate employment data of graduates - including but not limited to employment and waiver information.
  • Maintain regular and consistent contact with graduates within assigned programs - document contact in CampusVue.
  • Following the above processes is an expectation for the ability to meet or exceed college and accreditation standards.
Employers:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers for the purposes of job placement of graduates. Follow up on posted internet and newspaper job leads, solicit internal campus staff for job leads, and initiate job lead campaigns on campus with the assistance of the campus presidents.
  • Consistently develop job leads that result in the placement of campus graduates in their respective fields of study through personal contact and other technology.
  • Provide support to employers seeking to fill positions within their organizations with campus graduates – conduct employer needs assessment and follow-up as needed.
  • Request and gather feedback from employers in the form of surveys, interview feedback, etc.
  • Maintain employer database (CampusVue).
  • Support and/or organize Program Advisory Committee Meetings in partnership with the Education Team (Program Managers, Faculty, Extern Coordinators), Director of Career Services, Campus Managers, and other staff members.
  • Assist in the organization of job fairs on campus, assist in finding outside job fairs to share with Campus Manager(s), invite employers to speak to current students, and arrange on-campus (mock) interviews.
  • Following the above processes is an expectation for the ability to meet or exceed college and accreditation standards.
Current Students:
  • Facilitate Career Development workshops both in and out of the classroom and assist students with the preparation and revision of employment documents (Resumes, Cover Letters, Applications, etc.).
  • Facilitate relationship building through personal contact of the student.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews and Needs Assessment meetings with students through multiple technology options.
  • Coordinate with the Extern Coordinator to develop job orders from extern sites in an effort to meet and exceed extern-to-hire (ETH) placement expectations.
  • Following the above processes is an expectation for the ability to meet or exceed college and accreditation standards.
Administrative:
  • Contribute to the Career Services Department meeting and exceeding Charter College and accreditation standards placement goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, employers, graduates, and staff by utilizing personal communication through in-person meetings/visits, email, and technology.
  • Accurately record all activities in CampusVue
  • To meet the goals of the company for placement through the successful ability to meet internal goals set to achieve the desired outcomes.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

COMPENSATION:
  • Non-Exempt Status Hourly.
  • Wage Range: $19.00 - $23.56.
  • Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge, and education level.
