University of Connecticut Recreation seeks a Student Employment Manager to implement the student HR program, recruit and onboard student staff, manage bi-weekly payroll, and maintain HR reporting and student employee data.
The role also supports professional staff searches, onboarding materials, and coordination of performance appraisals, fostering an inclusive culture and strong workplace development.
Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Director, the Student Employment Manager (Student Services Program Assistant 1) implements the department's student human resource program for UConn Recreation. This program includes the recruitment and retention of student personnel, bi-weekly payroll compliance, employee training and education, workplace policy, employee workflow and database management, and performance review. The position also supports the department in managing professional staff searches and HR administration. The position provides essential support by promoting a welcoming and inclusive organizational culture centered on providing student employees with intentional workplace development.
