Job summary

Responsibilities include creating curricula, planning daily activities, supervising staff, and tracking progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Ability to build effective professional relationships with families and students.
• Experience developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
• Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment.
• Highly developed oral/written communication.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum/activities to meet developmental goals and instructional activities.
• Prepare lesson plans and structure daily routines for students.
• Direct Para-Professionals in classroom with daily/weekly tasks.
• Allocate 90% of time with students teaching daily-life skills.
• Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other staff.
• Measure progress and provide reports on students’ achievements.
• Create and keep records on attendance and incidents per program policies.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with guidelines.
• Provide a safe, thriving environment for all students on campus.
• Perform other duties as assigned with Vocational and Day Services when school is not in session.
