Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking a Student Employment Program Coordinator for the WVU Career Center. This role manages the Student Employment Program, providing training, guidance, and resources to faculty, staff, supervisors, and students, and coordinates the First Destination Survey outreach with campus partners.

You'll oversee front-office operations, supervise student staff, and support budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and events such as career fairs, while advancing career

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of one year experience in planning, coordinating programs, projects, initiatives, or events.
• Experience providing training, guidance, or support to students, employees, supervisors, or other stakeholders.
• Experience supervising, training, or coordinating student employees, staff, or volunteers.
• Experience using information systems, software applications, or technology platforms to support program or administrative operations.
• Experience managing or supporting administrative, business, financial, or operational functions, including budgeting, financial transactions, reconciliation, recordkeeping, or reporting.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate WVU Student Employment Program (Non-Federal Work-Study) across WVU campuses.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to campus hiring managers, supervisors, and student employees.
• Develop, maintain, and distribute student employment resources and the WVU Student Worker Handbook.
• Support career readiness initiatives and programming to articulate transferable skills.
• Coordinate and support events like Summer and Back-to-School Job Fairs.
• Liaise with Student Financial Services to coordinate FWS and non-FWS processes.
• Build relationships with campus partners to identify student employment needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information per university policies.
