Joliet Junior College is seeking a part-time Student Employee for the English, Philosophy, and World Languages Department to support the EPWL team. The role offers flexible hours and assists with communications, events, and front-desk tasks.

The position emphasizes customer service, organization, and teamwork, and requires enrollment in 6 credit hours with at least a 2.0 GPA. It is a non-exempt, part-time role with pay starting at $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in 6 credit hours in fall/spring toward declared major at JJC.
• GPA of 2.0 or above.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Attentiveness to detail, organized, initiative; able to work independently.
• Willingness to cooperate with college and community.

Responsabilités

• Update EPWL bulletin boards and area classrooms.
• Post class cancellation signs and notify students by phone.
• Contact students for cancelled sections and suggest alternatives.
• Assist at department events (English summit, Majors Fair, swag bags).
• Staff department information table on C-Concourse with flyers and materials.
• Assist faculty and staff during Main Street events to promote programs.
• Serve as receptionist and answer phones when short-handed.
• Perform clerical duties: filing, shredding, scanning.
• Assist in special projects as they arise.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
