Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a data-focused records technician to support student information management and reporting across schools.

Your responsibilities include analyzing data, maintaining accurate student records, preparing attendance and demographic reports, and supplying documents for state reporting.

You will train staff on the SIS, manage security within the system, and collaborate with administrators to ensure timely data submissions and compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required with two years of data-related experience
• Experience with editing and completing source data within computer systems

Responsibilities

• Serves as the SIS expert for data accuracy and reporting for administrators and NCDPI
• Prepares and maintains computerized records of student attendance
• Generates attendance reports and reconciles reports monthly
• Provides files for school accountability (ABCs)
• Maintains student demographic, scheduling, grading, and medical records
• Prepares SIS data for year start/end including promotions/retentions
• Maintains files and reports for students served under IDEA/Exceptional Children in SIS
• Coordinates user security within SIS with district personnel
• Attends workshops/webinars to stay updated on SIS procedures
• Keeps up to date on NC School Attendance and Student Accounting procedures
• Works with admin and guidance to build master schedule and related reports
• Assists parents with enrollment procedures and school policies
• Performs other related duties as assigned
