Job summary

North Central College seeks Student Gallery Assistants for the Schoenherr Gallery and other campus venues. Staff open hours, assist with exhibition setup, and support outreach.

Ideal candidates are NCC students with weekend availability, comfortable with Microsoft Office, Canva, and Google Suite, and capable of lifting 25 pounds when needed. This is a part‑time, on‑site role with opportunities for special events.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a student at North Central College.
• Available a minimum of 10 hours per week and able to work at least 5 hours weekly.
• Available one Saturday a month.
• Available for at least one special event per month.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage with gallery patrons, ensuring a positive, accessible experience.
• Answer patron questions and share information about current exhibitions.
• Monitor gallery space to ensure artwork security.
• Support special events and exhibition preparation.
• Assist install and deinstall exhibits: loading artwork and posting marketing information.
• Prepare and support shows through marketing, social media, research, and light duties.
