Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of district training for school crossing guards is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of crosswalk safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work cooperatively with building staff.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships in a diverse setting.

Responsibilities

• Stops oncoming traffic using a flag to allow students to cross safely.
• Monitors students’ activities and behavior near crosswalks and stays alert for unsafe situations.
• Reports inappropriate student behavior and vehicles that fail to stop when signaled.
