Job summary

The Park Rapids School District is seeking a dedicated Student Council Advisor for Century Upper Elementary (grades 5/6) to foster leadership, collaboration, and civic engagement among students.

This shared role supports 7/8 grades as well, with the stipend split between positions. The advisor will mentor students, coordinate meetings, plan events, and work with school staff to ensure activities reflect district goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience working with students, preferably in leadership or advisory roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and guide Student Council members in their roles and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate regular meetings, ensuring all voices are heard and discussions are productive.
  • Assist students in planning and executing school events, fundraisers, and community service projects.
  • Collaborate with school administration to align Student Council activities with school policies and objectives.
  • Provide support and resources for student-led initiatives and projects.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement in council activities and decision-making processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Student Council and school staff, parents, and the community.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Student Council programs and activities.
  • Promote a positive school culture through student leadership and involvement.
