Mount St. Mary's University seeks a Director of Student Conduct & Community Standards to lead the Student Conduct Office, oversee a fair, educational process, and advance campus well-being.

As the primary hearing officer, the director will supervise a conduct board, collaborate with campus partners, and develop educational interventions aligned with restorative practices and student learning.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or related field is required.
  • 3–6 years of professional experience in student conduct, residence life, or related area.
  • Experience as a hearing officer and managing conduct processes preferred.
  • Familiarity with student development theory and restorative practices.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills; ability to build relationships.
  • Knowledge of student conduct platforms such as Advocate or similar and Workday is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership for the Student Conduct Office, including case intake, investigations, hearings, resolutions, and follow-up.
  • Manage student conduct processes in alignment with institutional policy, including student rights and restorative justice practices.
  • Serve as the primary hearing officer for student conduct cases, including complex matters.
  • Establish and oversee a student conduct board, including recruitment and training of members.
  • Facilitate review and revision of the Student Code of Conduct and collaborate with campus partners.
