Job summary

Kettering University seeks a Career Services Advisor to guide students in resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies while promoting the co-op program to employers. The role emphasizes building relationships with students, employers, and campus partners, and delivering workshops and career development activities.

Travel for employer visits and events is required, and we expect strong communication, organization, and data-informed decision making to support student success and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with two to three years of progressive experience in higher education, career counseling, recruiting and/or business setting.
  • Experience working with diverse constituencies and the ability to travel for extended periods, as well as occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Public speaking or presentations experience.
  • Experience with PC and software applications and a valid unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Advise/coach students with resumes, cover letters, interview skills, and job search techniques; promote and market cooperative education to students.
  • Leverage CRM to provide excellent service and effective action; use data to manage the pipeline and make data-driven decisions.
  • Monitor co-op experiences by maintaining contact, reviewing positions and evaluations, and conducting employer site visits.
  • Market and sell Kettering’s co-op program to employers; develop and refine job descriptions and work plans; conduct recruitment at employer facilities.
  • Coordinate on-campus professional development, student learning activities, employment fairs, and alumni/employer events; facilitate reflective sessions each term.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and relationships with the Kettering community.

Job Specific Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with two to three years of progressive experience in higher education, career counseling, recruiting, and/or business setting.
