Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia seeks an entry-level Food Service Worker III for Lincoln High School. You will supervise a small team, plan daily meals from prescribed menus, and ensure safe, sanitary preparation of breakfasts, lunches, and after-school meals.

Responsibilities include handling orders and deliveries, maintaining inventories, recording deposits and financial totals, and contributing to daily reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of health and sanitation aspects of food handling.
• Ability to learn to use and care for kitchen equipment.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read, write and count accurately.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a crew of food services workers and assigns work.

• Portions and serves food to children and adults.
• Orders food and supplies; maintains inventories and records.
• Prepares reports and handles deposits and cash records.
• May clean service or preparation areas and remove trash.
