Job summary

West Coast University is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to support students at all campuses, building rapport and delivering accurate information while guiding them through the packaging and disbursement process.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to manage a caseload in a fast-paced environment, including occasional night/weekend hours. You will collaborate with UA teams to ensure funds disburse timely and stay compliant with regulations.

Qualifications

• Solid working knowledge of financial aid standards and customer service in an educational setting.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
• Minimum 2 years of financial aid experience.
• Must not be in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment of a federal grant.
• Must consent to audio and video recording of appointments for training and QA.
• Demonstrates integrity, ethics, confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Understand program makeup, funding programs and packaging standards for all WCU campuses.
• Ensure students are properly packaged for prior academic years and repackaging.
• Support students through initial and repackaging process and maintain ongoing contact.
• Calculates and initiates financial aid offers and payment plans.
• Educates students on FAFSA, loan options, scholarships and alternative funding sources.
• Works with campus teams to ensure funds disburse timely and for approved amounts.
• Manages assigned student caseload to achieve operational outcomes.
