Job summary

SILVER FALLS SD 4J is seeking an Instructional Assistant I at Robert Frost Elementary in Silverton, Oregon. This full-time 7-hour position supports instruction and helps create a positive, inclusive learning environment for diverse learners.

Responsibilities include assisting with instruction, supporting behavior, and implementing IEPs. The role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative school community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree or 2 years of college coursework, or ability to pass a district assessment.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in a school setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with instructional delivery and student learning activities.
• Work with students individually, in small groups, and whole-class settings.
• Assist in implementing IEPs and student support strategies.
• Supervise students across all school environments (classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playground, buses, and more).
• Support positive student behavior using district-approved strategies and interventions.
• Assist with student assessment, grading, and progress monitoring.
• Provide academic, behavioral, physical, and personal care support as needed; maintain confidentiality.
