Pacific University invites current students to join our community learning landscapes in Forest Grove. The assistant works with staff and volunteers to support regenerative gardening, outdoor education, and nonprofit programs.

The position is open to current Pacific University students with mentorship and increasing responsibility. Wage is $16.80 per hour for the 2026-27 academic year, located at B Street Learning Commons and Wild Roots Farm Campus.

Qualifications

• Dependable and communicative.
• Able to work collaboratively outdoors in varied weather.
• Willing to learn through hands-on work.
• Able to lift/carry up to 30 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
• Interest or experience in gardening, farming, ecology, sustainability, or community-based work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with seeding, planting, watering, mulching, composting, harvesting, and weed management.
• Identify priorities and respond to seasonal needs.
• Welcome community participants and document completed work.
• Contribute to healthier gardens and habitat systems for programs.
