Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Bus Driver to transport students on scheduled routes and field trips, ensuring passenger safety and bus readiness. You will follow time schedules, manage passenger behavior, and perform daily vehicle checks.

The role requires a GED or high school diploma, a CDL with P and S endorsements, and completion of a safety training. Benefits include paid time off and family-related programs.

Qualifications

• Education: GED or high school diploma is required.
• CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements is required.
• Completed bus driver safety training is required.
• Must be over 21 and pass alcohol/drug tests.
• DOT physical examination is required.

Responsibilities

• Drives a school bus safely on schedule to and from homes, campuses and field trips.
• Maintains order and discipline of passengers and documents any incidents.
• Performs daily safety and operational inspections of the vehicle.
• Oversees loading/unloading, releases to authorized individuals, ensures seat belts are fastened.
• Keeps mileage, routing, maintenance and schedule records up to date.
• Notifies supervisors of any route delays and updates credentials as required.
