Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Bus Driver to transport students on scheduled routes and field trips, prioritizing passenger safety. The role requires a valid CDL with class P and S endorsements, completion of a bus safety program, and the ability to manage student behavior while maintaining daily vehicle inspections.

The position offers an hourly compensation between $19.00 and $23.75, with eligibility for a performance bonus based on team performance and goals.

Qualifications

• Education: GED or High School Diploma.
• Experience operating large passenger vehicles or equivalent training.
• License: Valid CDL with class P and S endorsements.
• Driver safety training completed; must be 21+ years old.
• Pass alcohol and drug tests; DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports students according to schedules and routes.
• Maintain order and discipline; document incidents as needed.
• Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of the bus.
• Oversee loading/unloading and ensure seat belts are fastened.
• Keep mileage, routing, maintenance, and time records up to date.
• Report delays to appropriate campus contacts and managers.
