Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks a Bus Driver to transport students on scheduled routes, ensuring passenger safety and operating the bus in a safe condition. The role requires CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements and strict adherence to DOT regulations.

Responsibilities include maintaining order, reporting incidents, and performing daily vehicle inspections to ensure reliability. Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, is expected.

Qualifications

• Education: GED or High School Diploma.
• Experience: Experience operating large passenger vehicles or equivalent.
• License: Valid CDL with class P and S endorsements.
• DOT Physical: Required by DOT regulations.
• Must be over 21 years old.
• Pass alcohol and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Drives a school bus safely on schedule to transport students to and from homes, school sites and field trips.
• Maintains order and proper discipline of passengers; documents and reports severe disciplinary cases.
• Conducts daily safety and operational inspection of the assigned vehicle.
