Job summary

The Auburn University Bookstore is seeking student Cashiers to support sales and service, transactions, and merchandising. You will engage customers, verify pricing, and assist with graduation cap and gown distribution as needed.

Ideal candidates are Auburn University students who can work gamedays, stand for extended periods, and communicate effectively with staff and customers. This role helps build retail experience on campus.

Qualifications

• Enrolled Auburn University student status required.
• Available to work gamedays as needed.
• Able to stand for 4 hours at a time.
• Effective communication skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Capable of working independently or with others.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions at the cash register.

Overview

The Auburn University Bookstore is excited to search for Cashiers to help our retail processes run smoothly! Cashiers help the sales and service department by assisting customers, facilitating transactions, stocking merchandise, and other duties indicated below.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions at the cash register.
• Greet customers and assist them with finding the products and services they desire.
• Have an enthusiastic attitude toward helping others.
• Walk the sales floor regularly to monitor for loss prevention and ensure the sales floor and merchandise are clean and in order.
• Ensure merchandise is tagged correctly, scans at the right price, and is free of damage.
• Stock merchandise on the sales floor as needed.
• Assist in ordering, distributing, and collecting caps and gowns for graduation each semester.
• Answer questions students have regarding textbooks and scholarships.
