Job summary

The Washington School Counselor Association is seeking a Discipline Specialist to support the instructional process by assisting with student discipline, communicating with students, parents, staff and other districts, and ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.

You will maintain discipline records, prepare monthly reports, and coordinate conferences/interventions under administration supervision in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Must have good human relations and interpersonal skills.
• Must meet ESSA Para-Educator requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with parents, students, staff in person, by phone, or in writing about attendance and discipline issues; ensures district/state notification requirements.
• Compiles data from multiple sources for reports while complying with state/federal requirements.
• Coordinates discipline-related projects and meetings (e.g., conferences, agendas) to support district requirements.
• Instructs students to enforce rules, provide conflict mediation, and offer positive discipline under administration supervision.
• Maintains student discipline records in Skyward and prepares monthly discipline reports.
