Job summary

UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA ATHLETICS is seeking a Student Athletics Photographer to capture moments and tell the story of our student-athletes across all sports. You will assist the photography team with coverage, collaboration with other departments, and maintaining a cohesive visual style.

The role requires current OU student status, willingness to work nights and weekends, and occasional travel. Flexible schedule and a focus on professional, respectful engagement with external media and staff are

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma for Fall Term.
• Experience in in-game photography is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with basic photography concepts and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director/Assistant Director of Photography with coverage of 21 varsity sports.
• Support digital archive editing, organization, and color/correct edits.
• Cover games and events, including nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
• Collaborate with Communications, Marketing, and coaching staff to meet department needs.

Position Introduction:

The Student Athletics Photographer contributes to the overall vision and goals of Oklahoma Athletics by capturing moments and engaging content that tells the story of our athletics programs and student-athletes through photos. Student photographers assist the Director and Assistant Director of Photography in coverage/support for all photography-related requests and coverage of the University’s 21 varsity sports, collaborating with the creative staffs to elevate departmental initiatives while ensuring a cohesive style across all department photography.

Essential Functions:

• Support and help organize the department’s digital archive, performing accurate editing, correction, and photo
  organization
• Collaborate with the Director of Photography, Assistant Director of Photography to ensure adequate coverage of games, photoshoots, department events and functions, maintaining a cohesive style across all sports
• Ability to work some nights and weekends with occasional travel to cover events and functions
• Collaborate with other departments such as Communications, Marketing, SoonerVision and coaching staff to ensure needs are met

Required Education and Experience:

• Must be currently enrolled in the Fall Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
• Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Department Preferences:

• Photography experience must include in-game photography for various sports
