Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and master’s degrees from an accredited college or university, or must have completed all requirements for master’s degree with the exception of internship completion.
  • Experience supervising young adults in an educational setting.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make quick policy-based decisions.
  • Strong ethics, integrity, and deadlines management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and listening skills.
  • Effective communication of internship needs to supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency in software to develop written reports.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to teach academic success strategies.
  • Strong conflict management and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible non-traditional schedule, including Sundays and some evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with a caseload of under-prepared students to develop academic skills.
  • Monitor academic progress and communicate with coordinators.
  • Collaborate with learning specialists to support student-athletes.
  • Develop and deliver professional development workshops.
  • Assist with screening, assessment, and development of support plans.
  • Facilitate small group sessions in challenging courses.
  • Co-lead SummerStart cohorts developing academic skills.
  • Support students in accessing accommodations.
  • Co-teach USC courses for first-year student-athletes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
