NC State University is seeking an ASPSA Academic Mentor (Temporary-Clerical) in Raleigh, NC to guide student-athletes in developing study skills, time management, and academic success. Ten hours per week with Sundays required; compensation is $13–$17 per hour.

Responsibilities include meeting with the assigned student-athlete to improve time management and study habits, assisting with accommodations if needed, and participating in group trainings.

Job Overview

The Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA) supports students across academic and student affairs. The Office of Academic Support Program for Student–Athletes (ASPSA) provides comprehensive support focused on academic and professional development. The Mentor Role is designed to aid student‑athletes in developing study skills, time‑management, and academic success.

Responsibilities

The primary role of a mentor is to meet with the assigned student‑athlete to develop and improve time‑management skills and productive study habits.

  • Assist student‑athletes to set academic goals (short‑ and long‑term).
  • Assist student‑athletes with requesting Disability Services Office accommodations, if needed.
  • Effectively communicate in a timely manner.
  • Participate in group training and supervision meetings.
