Job summary

NC State University is seeking an ASPSA Academic Mentor (Temporary-Clerical) in Raleigh, NC to guide student-athletes in developing study skills, time management, and academic success. Ten hours per week with Sundays required; compensation is $13–$17 per hour.

Responsibilities include meeting with the assigned student-athlete to improve time management and study habits, assisting with accommodations if needed, and participating in group trainings.

Qualifications

• Ability to relate to students with a wide range of academic backgrounds.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to teach study skills and learning strategies.
• Prefer one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Meet with the assigned student-athlete to develop time-management skills and study habits.
• Assist student-athletes with requesting accommodations, if needed.
• Communicate effectively in a timely manner.
• Participate in group training and supervision meetings.
