Job Summary

The ROAR Leader - Marketing & Office Assistant serves as the primary student marketing and administrative assistant for the Office of New Student Connections while also serving as a specialized member of the ROAR Leader (Recruitment, Orientation, Admissions, and Retention Leaders) team. This position is responsible for creating marketing materials, managing digital communications and social media, supporting office operations, and promoting recruitment, orientation, and student engagement initiatives through creative storytelling and exceptional customer service. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Marketing & Office Assistant represents Georgia Gwinnett College at campus tours, recruitment events, Grizzly Orientation, Preview Days, Admitted Student Days, and other enrollment-related activities. All ROAR Leaders are expected to fully participate in required training, retreats, setup days, and events throughout the year, with April-August serving as the primary event season.

Employment and training begin January 2027, and attendance at the mandatory retreat on January 8-9, 2027 (or other designated dates) is required.

Responsibilities
  • Design marketing materials including flyers, digital graphics, presentations, signage, promotional items, and other print and digital resources using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design platforms.
  • Create, edit, and produce engaging photo and video content that promotes Grizzly Orientation, recruitment initiatives, campus events, and New Student Connections programs.
  • Plan, create, schedule, and manage social media content while maintaining a consistent departmental voice, visual identity, and brand standards.
  • Write creative and informative copy for social media, email campaigns, websites, newsletters, presentations, and other marketing materials.
  • Capture photos and videos during campus tours, orientation programs, recruitment events, and other departmental activities for promotional and archival purposes.
  • Assist with updating digital resources, websites, presentations, and orientation materials to ensure information remains accurate and engaging.
  • Brainstorm, develop, and implement creative marketing strategies that increase awareness, engagement, and participation in New Student Connections programs.
  • Provide professional front desk support by greeting visitors, answering phones, responding to inquiries, and assisting walk-in guests.
  • Prepare orientation materials, name badges, packets, signage, promotional items, and event supplies.
  • Assist with office organization, inventory management, data entry, filing, document preparation, and other administrative tasks.
  • Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional office environment while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Support event logistics by assisting with setup, breakdown, transportation of materials, check-in operations, and event execution.
  • Represent Georgia Gwinnett College at campus tours, recruitment events, Grizzly Orientation, Preview Days, Admitted Student Days, and other enrollment-related initiatives as a fully trained ROAR Leader.
  • Collaborate with professional staff, student employees, and campus partners to ensure successful departmental operations and events.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting with special projects and performing other duties as assigned.
  • Organize and maintain digital marketing assets, media libraries, project files, and branded resources.
  • Collaborate with professional staff, ROAR Leaders, student organizations, and campus partners to develop content and promote departmental initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College.
  • Must be in good academic standing (minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA) and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
  • Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design tools.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, digital communication, and current marketing trends.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to create engaging, audience focused content.
  • Creativity with an eye for design, branding, and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to learn about GGC enrollment processes, academic programs, student resources, and campus services.
  • Ability to work virtual events and presentations.
  • Ability to walk, stand, lift materials, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods during events.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one academic calendar year remaining at GGC following the initial date of employment.
  • Experience with graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations, or social media management.
  • Experience with video editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush, or iMovie.
  • Experience with photography, videography, and basic photo editing.
  • Previous leadership, mentoring, customer service, peer education, office, or event experience.
  • Participation in student organizations, athletics, honors programs, internships, or other campus involvement.
  • Familiarity with GGC programs, services, and student life.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License or willingness to obtain one before the start of the primary event season.
  • Interest in serving as the GGC mascot, General, during select events.
