Job summary

Georgia Gwinnett College is seeking a proactive Student Assistant to join the HACER Peer Leader program. This role supports peer mentoring, program promotion, and workshops as part of the HACER learning community.

You will handle front desk coverage, assist with meetings and event logistics, and help with promotional materials. The position offers flexible hours (7–25 per week) to fit a student’s schedule.

Qualifications

  • Must be a HACER participant at GGC with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College.
  • Must be in good academic standing for duration of employment.
  • Letters of recommendation from a GGC faculty or staff member are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front desk coverage for the Student Success offices, greeting students, faculty and guests.
  • Provide informal mentoring support for HACER peers and participants.
  • Assist with scheduling and managing meetings.
  • Assist with documents: shredding, scanning, copying, and related tasks.
  • Assist with creating and distributing promotional materials for HACER events.
  • Help maintain HACER social media platforms as needed.
  • Assist with event setup and cleanup.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Student Success is seeking self‑motivated and proactive student assistants to work with the High Achievers Committed to Excellence in Results (HACER) learning community in support of a variety of programming activities, such as peer mentoring, program promotion, and support for HACER learning community workshops and other related events.

Responsibilities
  • Provide front desk coverage in Student Success offices, greeting and assisting students, faculty, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide informal mentoring support for other program participants.
  • Assist with managing and scheduling meetings.
  • Assist with managing documents, including shredding, scanning, copying, and other similar tasks.
  • Assist with designing, preparing and distributing promotional materials for HACER workshops and related events.
  • Help maintain related social media platforms as needed.
  • Assist with event/meeting set‑up and clean‑up.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a participant in the HACER learning community at GGC, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater.
  • Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College.
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
  • Must be in good standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good standing for the duration of employment.
  • Letters of recommendation by a GGC faculty or staff member are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience promoting and supporting events.
  • Software proficiency such as Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Canva, and Outlook.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Able to work 7-25 hours a week as needed.
  • Able to exercise discretion to handle confidential information.
  • Able to interact effectively with people at all levels. Strong verbal and written communication skills are expected.
  • Able to act responsibly with resources such as technology and information.
