Job summary

Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Online and Continuing Education (COCE) is seeking several undergraduate student workers to support eLearning initiatives in Boca Raton, FL. You will interact with clients, provide basic technical support, and assist with course and media content creation and accessibility.

Responsibilities include helping faculty in Canvas, managing live webinar sessions, video editing, and data reporting.

Qualifications

  • Degree-seeking undergraduate student with a minimum of six credit hours (or twelve if international) and a 2.0 GPA.
  • Must have reliable high-speed internet at home and reliable transportation.
  • An interest in and respect for the unique creative environment at FAU’s COCE.
  • Ability to interact successfully in a collaborative team environment; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Familiarity with Premiere Pro, Camtasia, Photoshop, After Effects, Animate, Illustrator.
  • Interest in media, education, project management, and emerging interactive technologies.

  • Provide premier customer service.
  • Support faculty in Canvas.
  • Assist with making course and media content accessible.
  • Assist with progress and data reports.
  • Assist in course design and development.
  • Setup and manage weekly live webinar sessions.
  • Manage video studio, labs and equipment.
  • Assist with on location video shoots.
  • Assist with video editing.
  • Assist with social media content creation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Center for Online and Continuing Education (COCE) at Florida Atlantic University is seeking several undergraduate student workers to assist with eLearning initiatives - Boca Raton, FL. With over 30,000 students from all 50 states and over 180 countries, 21 intercollegiate teams, 180 plus degree programs, and an administration that thrives on discovery and excellence, FAU is pushing the boundaries of higher education. Minimum Qualifications

Degree-seeking undergraduate student with a minimum of six credit hours (or twelve if international) and a 2.0 GPA. Must have reliable high-speed internet at home. Must have reliable transportation. An interest in and respect for the unique creative environment at FAU’s Center for Online and Continuing Education. An ability to interact successfully in a collaborative team environment. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently given departmental policies and guidelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Integrity, punctuality, and dependability. Ability to align personal career goals to responsibilities within the COCE environment. Motivation and interest in learning and using new technologies and software (visual skills, graphics, etc.) Premiere Pro, Camtasia, Photoshop, After Effects, Animate, Illustrator, etc. Emerging Technologies (VR/AR, etc.) Customer Service/Public Relations. Troubleshooting PCs. Light Lifting Required.

Preferred skills include the following, but not limited to:
  • Basic Office Skills (filing, typing, phone etiquette, photocopying, etc.)
  • Knowledge of (or willing to learn) Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Video production workflows, WebEx, and Canvas LMS
  • Research Skills (internet search, organization of information, data entry, cataloging, etc.)
  • Management Skills (events, scheduling, maintaining inventory, etc.)
  • Media Production (photography, audio, video production)

$15.00 per hour

Boca Raton

Work Days and Hours

Maximum Hours a Week: 20 hours when class is in session. This can be done during normal business hours. Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
