Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health's Devereux Center for Effective Schools seeks a dedicated SAP Liaison to support public school students in Montgomery County. You will conduct screenings, facilitate psychoeducational groups, provide consultations on mental health and substance use, and connect families with community resources.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in behavioral health, human services, education, or a related setting.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between school locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prevention, intervention, consultation, and referral services to public school students in the Student Assistance Program.
  • Conduct behavioral health screenings and facilitate psychoeducational and prevention-focused groups.
  • Offer consultation on mental health and substance use concerns and connect students and families to community resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure program compliance, while building collaborative relationships with educators, families, and partners.

If so, Devereux Center for Effective Schools is seeking a dedicated Student Assistance Program (SAP) Liaison to provide prevention, intervention, consultation, and support services within local school districts throughout Montgomery County. In this rewarding role, you will work directly with students, families, educators, and community providers to identify and address concerns related to mental health, substance use, trauma, self-harm, and other barriers to student success.


As an SAP Liaison, you will collaborate with dedicated professionals who share your commitment to improving the lives of students and families.

Positional Summary:

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) Liaison provides prevention, intervention, consultation, and referral services to public school students participating in the Student Assistance Program. Working closely with students, families, school teams, and community providers, the SAP Liaison conducts behavioral health screenings, facilitates psychoeducational and prevention-focused groups, provides consultation on mental health and substance use concerns, and connects students and families to appropriate community resources.


This school-based role is essential in promoting early intervention, student wellness, and positive outcomes by helping students overcome barriers to academic and personal success. The SAP Liaison also maintains accurate documentation, ensures compliance with program requirements, and builds strong collaborative relationships with educators, administrators, families, and community partners.


About Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions.

Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions (DESS) offers education services to support child- serving institutions around early learning; the treatment of students with complex communication, behavioral and mental health needs; and prevention programming. We also offer academic interventions, direct staff placement in districts and diagnostic and assessment evaluation services.


Qualifications

Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Education, or a related field.


  • At least one year of experience in behavioral health, human services, education, or a related setting.


  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and ability to travel between school locations.


  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


  • Required clearances: Act 33/34, Act 168, PDE, and DPW/FBI Fingerprints.



Preferred:


  • Student Assistance Program (SAP) experience.


  • Experience providing school-based services.


  • Knowledge of behavioral health, substance use prevention, and community resources.


  • Experience facilitating groups and working with youth and families.



Physical Requirements


  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.


  • Frequent computer and office equipment use.


  • Ability to travel regularly between schools and community locations.


  • Normal hearing and vision.
