Job summary

Catholic Charities is seeking a Student Ambassador (Program Assistant) who is a current or recently enrolled Labouré Adult Education Center student with strong attendance and communication skills. You will welcome students, assist with orientations and intake, and support instructors and staff with daily program operations.

The role offers an opportunity to build leadership, customer service, technology, communication, and administrative skills in a professional educational setting.

Qualifications

• Current or recently enrolled Labouré Adult Education Center student in good standing.
• Completion of at least one academic term in the program preferred.
• Strong record of attendance, punctuality, participation, and respectful conduct.
• Ability to work with diverse linguistic, cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Welcome prospective, new, and returning students and help create a respectful and inclusive environment.
• Assist staff during student intake, registration, placement, testing, and orientation activities.
• Help distribute and review the Student Handbook, program schedules, orientation materials, and basic student expectations.
• Answer routine questions about program services, schedules, classrooms, and activities, referring confidential or complex matters to appropriate staff.
• Assist students with completing basic forms and navigating program technology under staff supervision.
• Help students access Google Classroom, Burlington English, email, Zoom, and other approved learning platforms.
• Prepare photocopies, classroom packets, instructional materials, certificates, folders, and student resources.
• Support teachers with classroom setup, materials organization, technology preparation, and approved instructional requests.
• Assist with student check-in, attendance materials, room directions, and crowd flow during orientations, testing sessions, workshops, student assemblies, and community activities.
