Job summary

St. Norbert College is seeking a Career Counselor to provide individualized career counseling and coaching for students and alumni, helping them explore majors, prepare for internships and jobs, and advance toward meaningful career outcomes.

The role includes delivering workshops, reviewing career documents, and administering assessments. On-site with some evening/weekend hours, this position supports the Academic Advising and Career Development Center’s initiatives and college mission.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Education, Higher Education, or related field preferred.
• Certification in MBTI® and Strong Interest Inventory® encouraged and preferred.
• 3-4 years of experience in career counseling.
• Knowledgeable in career services, assessments, resume/cover letter guidance, interviewing, and job search strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized career counseling and advising to students and alumni on majors, career exploration, graduate school prep, internships, and job search strategies.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of advising interactions.
• Review and provide feedback on resumes, cover letters, personal statements, grad school applications, and other career documents.
• Develop and deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and programs on career topics for groups and events.
• Some evening and weekend participation may be required.
• Administer and interpret career assessment tools to guide career decision-making.
• Develop and maintain career resources, materials, and programming to support student career development.
• Plan, coordinate, and support career development events and workshops, including logistics and major office initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support Academic Advising and Career Development Center goals.
• Engage in professional development and required institutional training.
