Job summary

Ashland School District is seeking a temporary LSU Student Affinity Group Advisor for Ashland Middle School. The role involves coordinating and facilitating affinity group meetings, ensuring monthly meeting time, and supporting students within a safe, confidential environment.

The advisor will work with district staff to manage invitations, materials, and budgets, while maintaining confidentiality and fostering student wellbeing and leadership development.

Qualifications

• Current employees of Ashland School District are strongly preferred.
• Personally identify with the same affinity as students in the affinity group, or demonstrate a strong allyship for the particular affinity group.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate affinity group meetings with a minimum of 150 minutes per month.
• Attend district and regional meetings and trainings as required.
• Manage group communications and invitations while maintaining confidentiality.
• Plan activities, coordinate materials, and track attendance within budget.
• Collaborate with site administrator and district equity staff to support student well-being.
