Job summary

VIP Supreme Staffing seeks an Entry-Level Student Advisor to support prospective and current students through enrollment and program progress. You will be a primary contact, guiding students on requirements, attendance, and available resources.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, processing applications, coordinating orientation, and maintaining student records, with emphasis on professional communication and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

The Entry-Level Student Advisor supports prospective, newly enrolled, and current students throughout their educational journey. This position serves as a primary point of contact for students, helping them understand program requirements, complete enrollment steps, maintain satisfactory attendance and academic progress, and access available school or community resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students by telephone, email, text message, social media, and in person.
  • Explain available training programs, tuition, payment options, class schedules, admissions requirements, and career opportunities.
  • Assist prospective students with applications, enrollment documents, orientation, and required student records.
  • Conduct scheduled follow-up with prospective students who have expressed interest in school programs.
  • Help new students transition into their programs and understand school expectations.
  • Monitor student attendance, academic progress, missing assignments, and other indicators that may affect program completion.
  • Contact students regarding absences, tardiness, incomplete work, documentation issues, or academic concerns.
  • Meet individually with students to discuss attendance, academic performance, financial concerns, personal barriers, and completion plans.
  • Refer students to appropriate school staff, instructors, workforce programs, social-service organizations, transportation resources, childcare resources, or other community assistance.
  • Maintain accurate student notes, contact records, enrollment documentation, and follow-up activity in the school’s student management system.
  • Assist with student orientation, graduation, career fairs, recruitment events, open houses, and community outreach activities.
  • Support students with résumé preparation, interview readiness, certification requirements, and job-placement resources when requested.
  • Communicate professionally with instructors, administrative staff, workforce agencies, and other education partners.
  • Protect confidential student information and follow applicable school policies and privacy requirements.
  • Meet established goals for student contact, enrollment follow-up, attendance intervention, retention, completion, and student satisfaction.
  • Perform other student-service and administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in education, business, communications, human services, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in customer service, education, admissions, staffing, recruiting, healthcare, case management, or office administration preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with strong customer-service and communication skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Comfortable communicating by telephone, email, text message, and in person.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, databases, and electronic recordkeeping.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
  • Ability to organize multiple assignments and consistently complete follow-up tasks.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for classes, orientations, graduations, or recruitment events.

Physical and Work Requirements
  • Ability to work primarily in an office or classroom environment.

  • Reliable transportation may be required for recruitment or community events.
