Job summary

Howard University is seeking a Student Accounts Manager to lead the Office of the Bursar's student account operations. The role requires directing a team, ensuring accurate billing, and delivering superior student service on campus and online.

The position emphasizes fiscal stewardship, data-driven improvements, and collaboration with Financial Aid, Registrar, and other campus partners. Regular on-site work and occasional peak-period hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• Five years of experience in student financial services or bursar operations.
• Three years of supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Student Account Analysts and customer service staff.
• Oversee delivery of student account services across in-person, virtual, email, and self-service channels.
• Manage daily operations including staffing, queue management, and resource allocation.
• Analyze service and financial data to monitor performance and inform improvements.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and financial regulations.
