Job summary

University of Lincoln is seeking an Accommodation Services Assistant to deliver a 24/7 reception service and help run our accommodation operations. You will be the first face students meet, ensuring halls feel welcoming and safe, with a focus on excellent service and problem solving.

The role supports student wellbeing and the residential journey, requiring flexibility for evenings and weekends, with a permanent, full-time contract and 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service experience in a busy, front-facing environment.
• A warm, approachable and diplomatic manner.
• The ability to stay calm, patient and helpful in unexpected or challenging situations.
• Strong communication skills and great attention to detail.
• Confidence using IT systems and learning new processes.
• A genuine commitment to supporting students and enhancing their residential experience.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends as part of our rota.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, helpful, knowledgeable reception service to students, parents, staff, visitors, and guests.
• Be a positive ambassador for the University — friendly, calm, and confident when resolving queries.
• Support student wellbeing by carrying out wellbeing checks where required.
• Assist with post handling, enquiries, administration, and database updates.
• Support arrivals, departures, open days, enrolment events and other key moments in the student journey.
• Work with colleagues across the wider Accommodation Services and Commercial & Campus Services teams.
• Participate in fire watch duties and support our safety processes.
