Job summary

CT State Community College is seeking an Associate of Student Accessibility/Disability Services to coordinate classroom accessibility for students with disabilities and arrange reasonable accommodation services.

Reporting to the Campus Director of ODAS, you will recruit and supervise student note takers, manage testing accommodations, oversee adaptive technology, train students, and handle confidential records and payroll while upholding privacy and equity on a diverse campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of Federal disability laws.
• Computer literacy and proficiency with educational technology.
• Ability to work with diverse populations including students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accessibility services including sign language interpreters and testing accommodations.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train and supervise student note takers/lab assistants.
• Oversee adaptive technology and develop accessible materials.
• Train students in the use of adaptive technologies and equipment.
• Provide access to ebooks and enlarged materials via approved resources.
• Proctor tests and assess suitable adaptive technology for students.
• Maintain confidential student records and payroll data.
• Assist with in-service events and budget projections.
