Job summary

BASIS Phoenix Primary is seeking a Student Academics Specialist to lead academic achievement, MTSS, assessment practices, and data-driven instructional support for grades K–5. The role collaborates with teachers, leaders, students, and families to drive strong academic growth and targeted interventions.

The ideal candidate is an instructional leader with data analysis expertise and the ability to translate findings into instructional actions, working closely with the Dean of Academics and school

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education or related field preferred.
• Current teaching certification or appropriate educational credentials preferred.
• Experience with academic data, assessment systems, and student intervention.
• Knowledge of MTSS, differentiated instruction, and evidence-based intervention practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with teachers, students, and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate academic data meetings with teachers to identify trends, celebrate growth, and determine next steps for instruction.
• Monitor screening and progress-monitoring data to identify students who may require additional support or enrichment.
• Analyze state assessment results and other data to identify strengths and opportunities.
• Develop and monitor action plans to improve student achievement.
• Oversee and monitor academic intervention systems for students in grades K–3; provide intervention services in grades 4–5.
