Job summary

Aerotek in Marana, AZ is seeking a Structures Mechanic to inspect, repair, and replace aircraft sheet metal structures under FAA regulations. You will interpret blueprints, lay out parts, and perform riveting and drilling on main landing gear fittings, skins, and floor beams.

This contract-to-hire role requires 1–5+ years of experience, a valid driver's license, and a personal set of basic hand tools. Onsite work; Benefits include medical, dental/vision, 401(k), life and disability coverage.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 5+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal, airframe, and structural repair.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Personal set of basic hand tools.
  • Proficiency in riveting, drilling, and interpreting blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to determine fabrication, assembly, and installation methods for sheet metal components.
  • Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal parts using knowledge of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining processes, and layout techniques.
  • Select appropriate gauge and type of sheet metal or composite material based on product specifications.
  • Accurately lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines using shop mathematics and precision tools.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including equipment repair and shop housekeeping.
  • Document component removal in the Component Removal Log and complete routing tags for repairable parts.
  • Ensure all training records are properly completed and signed off by authorized personnel.
  • Perform structural work on commercial aircraft larger than a CRJ 900, with preference given to candidates with Boeing and Airbus experience.

Job Title: Structures MechanicLocation: Marana, ArizonaJob Type: Contract to HirePosition Overview: The Structures Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing aircraft sheet metal structures in accordance with FAA regulations and applicable maintenance manuals. This includes work on main landing gear fittings, aircraft skins, floor beams, and other structural components. Essential Qualifications:

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with hydraulic press brakes, power shears, forming equipment, and other specialized hand tools.
  • Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Requires manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and corrected vision and hearing.
  • Exposure to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and safety hazards; protective equipment is provided.
  • May involve work on the B777 Cargo Conversion Program and other site-wide projects.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
