Job summary

WSP USA is offering a Summer 2027 Structures Intern position in Troy, NY, for students enrolled in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering programs. The internship runs for 12 weeks, starting May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

Interns will work alongside senior staff in the Structures Bridge Group, gaining exposure to real projects, mentorship, and networking opportunities through the Developing Professionals Network.

Qualifications

• Candidate currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with anticipated graduation Sept 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in Structural Engineering of transportation structures and desire to grow within WSP.
• Good interpersonal communication and ability to work with engineers and non-engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
• Support project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Assist in preparing final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Help collect and maintain project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and follow WSP Code of Conduct.
