Job summary

Florida Turbine Technologies in Jupiter, FL, seeks a structural engineer to design and analyze turbomachinery hardware, focusing on stress, vibration, and life analyses using FEA and hand calculations.

You will work in an interdisciplinary team, mentor, and support manufacturing and customers; requires BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years in structural analysis, with turbomachinery background and ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in structural analysis.
• Background in turbomachinery preferred.
• Strong understanding of stress, vibration, fatigue/fracture mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Uses hand calculations and finite element analyses to evaluate conceptual, preliminary, and final structural evaluation of turbomachinery components and assemblies.
• Ensures structural analysis follows accepted methods and is properly checked and documented.
• Supports field or production issues, such as root cause investigations and disposition of manufacturing nonconformances.
• Organizes technical discussions with team and Chief Engineer’s office.
• Communicates project status to team leads, program managers, and customers.
